Students learn finite precision arithmetic and numerical errors, solve nonlinear equations and system of nonlinear equations, solve linear systems of equations, construct an analytical function that fits to experimental data, compute integrals numerically, solve ordinary differential equations numerically.

Numerical errors and their estimation, approximation and interpolation. Roots of equations. Solution of linear and non-linear simultaneous equations. Numerical differention and integration. Solution of ordinary and partial differential equations. Introduction to statistical methods.
