Objectives of the Course This aims of this course are to teach the principles and hardware structure of programmable logic controllers (PLC), to show programming techniques with practical applications and to acquire the designing of the industrial applications and ability of their demonstrable .
Course Content Basics of control systems and control devices such as contactors, relays, time relays, protection relay, Common standards related with the control techniques and circuits, PLC’s structure: the central processing unit, memory structure, input-output unit, PLC communication interfaces and protocols, PLC’s physical connection, PLC selection criteria, PLC’s operating system and the execution of programs, Programming editor, instruction set and programming with ladder diagram, Basic logic switching commands, timer and counter functions, Arithmetic operations and comparison commands, Program control and interrupt programs, PLC special units: High-speed counter, PID controller, Numerical applications with PLC, Analog applications with PLC
