Objectives of the Course To provide students with advanced knowledge in specialized electrical machine topics; to develop analytical skills in scale modelling, permanent magnet applications, reluctance motor theory, stepping motor control, and linear motor fundamentals.
Course Content Scale modelling of electrical machines; permanent magnets and their applications to electrical machines; general theory of basic types of AC reluctance motors; static and dynamic characteristics and types of stepping motors; resonance damping and basic drive circuits; step motor selection criteria; types and basic theory of linear motors.
Course Methods and Techniques Lecture explanations, slides, diagrams, and videos used to visually explain complex topics.
