Objectives of the Course To model the dynamics of synchronous machines and perform transient analysis.
To provide information on automatic voltage regulators (AVRs) and speed governors.
To define active power and frequency control in power systems.
To define reactive power and voltage control in power systems.
To define voltage and angle stability of power systems.
Course Content Synchronous machine dynamic modeling and transient analysis. Automatic voltage regulators and speed governors. Active power and frequency control in power systems. Reactive power and voltage control in power systems. Voltage and angle stability of power systems.
Course Methods and Techniques The lecture topics are explained using both slides and the whiteboard.
