About Programme
The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, thanks to the knowledge and skills gained during the undergraduate education, aims to graduate engineers;

who have necessary and sufficient knowledge in basic sciences (mathematics, statistics, physics, chemistry, etc.) and who are capable of using these scientific foundations in professional careers and applications, who are able to master and use these knowledge in the basic fields of Electrical-Electronics Engineering,

who can make laboratory experiments in the main topics related to Electrical and Electronics Engineering and then interpret and analyze experimental results,

who can design in the basic areas of Electrical-Electronics Engineering and can stand out in a stronger position with these skills,

who use computer technology and use professional software,

who are aware of vocational and ethical responsibilities, social, economic, political and legal context in which they are undertaking, who are able to assess them, who are aware of the importance of continuing education in order to monitor professional competence and developments, and who have gained

work experience and high potential for job finding.

History
The Engineering Faculty of Gaziantep University traces its origins back to 1973 when Middle East Technical University (ODTÜ) established the Department of Mechanical Engineering in Gaziantep. In 1974, the Department of Electrical Engineering was also founded, thus establishing the ODTÜ Gaziantep Campus. The Electrical Engineering Department at ODTÜ Gaziantep Campus graduated its first students in 1979. In 1982, the Department of Electrical Engineering was renamed as the Department of Electrical-Electronics Engineering. Gaziantep University was established in 1987, and our department continued its educational activities under the Engineering Faculty of Gaziantep University. The language of instruction in our department is English.

Starting from the Spring semester of 2011, a practice was initiated to reward outstanding students in our department. Honor and High Honor students were identified, and certificates were awarded to them in a ceremony. Additionally, the names of these students were recorded in the department's honor and high honor lists. This practice, which will be repeated every semester, aims to motivate our students.

Following the completion of seven semesters of coursework in our curriculum, our department has introduced an "internship" program. This program ensures that students complete their final semesters under the supervision of an engineer in an industrial organization, both domestically and internationally.
Qualification Awarded
Students who successfully graduate from the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Master's Program receive a Master's degree diploma and are awarded the title of 'Electrical and Electronics Engineer (M.Sc.)'.
Admission Requirements
Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and the minimum ALES score to   start   the Master's degree. Candidates who have a Bachelor's degree in fields close to Electrical and Electronics Engineering are accepted to the program, provided that they successfully complete the designated Electrical and Electronics Engineering Undergraduate courses before taking the Master's degree courses.
Higher Grade Transition
Students who successfully complete the Master's program can apply for a Ph.D. program at domestic or international institutions.
Graduation Requirements
Students are required to complete seven credit-based seminar courses and one non-credit seminar course. The passing grade for credit-based courses is set at CC. In addition, they enroll in non-credit thesis and specialization courses during their thesis work evaluation period. Students must accumulate a minimum of 120 ECTS credits and achieve a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.50 out of 4.00 to complete the program.

Graduates of the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Master's program possess wide-ranging and high-profile employment opportunities at both national and international levels, thanks to the advanced expertise, R&D, and scientific research competences they acquire during their graduate education. Holding the title of "Electrical and Electronics Engineer (M.Sc.)", our graduates can pursue their careers in the following fields:
1. As expert engineers, design architects, or team leaders in the R&D centers of national and international technology companies, as well as leading firms operating in the automotive, consumer electronics, energy, and automation sectors,
2. As senior/expert research engineers in the fields of radar, communications, signal processing, embedded systems, microelectronics, and control systems within the leading defense and aerospace corporations of our country and the world (such as ASELSAN, TAI, ROKETSAN, HAVELSAN, TEI, etc.),
3. Within academic staffs as research assistants or lecturers at prestigious domestic and international universities while continuing their doctoral (Ph.D.) studies,
4. As entrepreneurs by establishing their own technology companies (start-ups) in technoparks and incubation centers, or as co-founders/Chief Technology Officers (CTO) in innovative ventures,
5. As technical experts, consultants, or project managers in public institutions and regulatory bodies governing the energy, communications, and information technology sectors (such as ICTA/BTK, EMRA/EPDK, TÜBİTAK Institutes, etc.).
Assessment and Grading
Students enrolled in the Master's program are expected to first pass exams and scientific assessments related to the courses they take. Course grades determine their overall GPA in the Master's program. Subsequently, they are required to complete a research project and write a thesis based on it. The topic of the research project is approved by the Institute of Science and the thesis work is completed under the supervision of an advisor faculty member. The thesis work is evaluated in an oral exam by a predetermined jury.
